Well, you have provided little in the way of precisely what messages are
being issued or what the system is doing instead of a "normal boot-up."

However, I expect that the system is detecting a problem with a
normally-mounted filesystem, and instructing you to "run fsck manually".

If that is the case, following the system's instructions is what you
need to do:  at the "# " prompt, enter

	fsck

and respond to the messages as they are issued.
