Some older thinkpads (eg my T23) resume properly (or better, or at all) 
with sysctl hw.syscons.sc_no_suspend_vtswitch=1

Some others have reported benefit from hw.acpi.reset_video=1

Just curious: does loading acpi_ibm work with this lenovo?
