Maybe something along the lines of: BUILD_DEPENDS+= ${PREFIX}/bin/gcc49:${PORTSDIR}/lang/gcc49 Also, regarding your USE_GCC you would do well to choose: USE_GCC= 4.9+ which says: Must use gcc49, or greater.
