I have noticed a similar problem with an Abit BP-6 dual Celeron
machine. Sometimes on shutdown or reboot it seems to hang forever,
sometimes it hangs for 5 or 10 minutes and then finishes, and sometimes
on a reboot it will (eventually) power down itself instead of
rebooting. I have not done any methodical tests yet to pinpoint the
behavior.
