I didn't have to make any changes to my existing smb4.conf file Me too, but we can't tell for sure this will happen for the OP too (at least without seeing his smb.conf, knowing whether he uses UFS of ZFS, POSIX ACLs or Windows ACLs, if he has enabled compatibility protocols for older devices, etc...).
