The CD I thought was AMD64 IS AMD64. :-) It sure would be helpfull if sysinstall would say something on top to the regard of which architecture it is. :-) In theory one could put the wrong CD and spend some time installing before realising the wrong one got installed. How about after installation? uname -a? I see a "i386" all the way at the end.
