From your /boot/ directory I see no /kernel directory, I assume you moved it to mykernel.old However the /kernel.old directory has a today's date, while normally this is only changed when you recompile a new kernel. Is it possible there was a GENERIC kernel in there that was updated? I am just speculating here, but you could try the following: - Reboot - Escape to loader prompt - unload - load /boot/kernel.old/kernel - boot and see if uname -a shows a 6.3-RELEASE Before this, you may want to take a look at the dates of the files inside /boot/kernel.old to see if they are updated
