The driver will not "autoprobe" the IRQ of the card unless you set the IRQ to -1 in userconfig or use an "irq ?" entry in the kernel config file. The current GENERIC kernel always looks for the card on irq 5 for the ed1 entry which is most likely why you are seeing this. -- Justin T.
