No. The `crypt' command, which implemented an incredibly weak cipher, was not deemed valuable enough to be re-implemented from scratch by Berkeley or (so far as I am aware) anyone else. Thus, it is only available subject to a license from USL. Our iBCS2 emulation might be good enough to run a statically-linked SCO or SVR3 binary if you have one. You'll need to compile your kernel with `options "COMPAT_IBCS2"' and enable the appropriate option in /etc/sysconfig. -GAWollman -- Garrett A.
