DOS doesn't allow the long filenames necessary for the packages. If you look at them, they have a name like someport-1.0.tgz; but on the DOS filesystem it looks like someport.-1. So you'll have to add the packages manually, which isn't hard (pkg_add /path/to/package.tgz).
