Here is what I did pkg_add -r ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-4-stable/All/libpathan-1.2_2.tgz and here is where I am uname -a FreeBSD ne211-demo.unl.edu 5.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE #0: Sun Jan 11 04:21:45 GMT 2004 root@wv1u.btc.adaptec.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 Initially, i was having problems with the downloaded tgz. But now pkg_add libpathan-1.2_2.tgz works.
