It has been about five months, so I may misremember, but I think I had a very similar problem earlier this year. I had a 64 bit Win7 system (on a 64 bit processor, naturally -- Intel Core i5). I installed VirtualBox and set it up for a 64 bit FreeBSD install, then tried to install 64 bit FreeBSD; I think it was 8.2, but I didn't keep careful notes that I can check now. It failed to work. I think I got a "doesn't support long mode" error, but again I am not 100% certain due to the passage of time and the fact I have not really thought about it in the interim. --=20 Chad Perrin [ original content licensed OWL: http://owl.apotheon.org ] --T7mxYSe680VjQnyC Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.14 (FreeBSD) iEYEARECAAYFAk4oOWAACgkQ9mn/Pj01uKV4pQCeIFWf9oY2O1xBMEjsxNr+Hgn/ EvsAoOzKc+bfnOEC20JSyemx01+ULXCp =d0XD -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --T7mxYSe680VjQnyC--
