Screen has a built-in scrollback buffer. Using default settings, hit CTRL-A then ESC. You can scroll the buffer using familiar Vi movement commands. Hit ESC when you're done. You can also modify the size of the scrollback buffer using the 'scrollback' command in your screenrc.
