Hello, If it's an earlier v20z/v40z then no, you can't change the fan speed from the OS (from my experiments anyway). However, the later revisions of the boards have included automatic fan speed control so it'll adjust according to the temperature. I got 4 v20z's next to me (2 of them are the older revisions, and 2 of them are the newer revisions), you eventually learn to tune them out :) Warren Danny Braniss wrote: >hi, > does anyone know how to lower the fan speed of this U1? it's a >dual opteron running 5.4 but far away from me :-) > >danny > > >_______________________________________________ >freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org mailing list >http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-amd64 >To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-amd64-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > > -- Warren Rees Library Systems Administrator James A.
