Make sure you're building the right base kernel config before tweaking. http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr842nd This indicates it's an AR7241. So, start with the AP91 or AP99 kernel configs. Try building that and tftpload/boot'ing it. -adrian On 30 September 2013 16:52, John Clark <jeclark2006@aim.com> wrote: > > On Sep 30, 2013, at 4:41 PM, hiren panchasara <hiren.panchasara@gmail.com= > > wrote: > > > > > > > > > On Mon, Sep 30, 2013 at 2:03 PM, Luiz Otavio O Souza <lists.br@gmail.co= m> > wrote: > > On 30 September 2013 15:31, John Clark <jeclark2006@aim.com> wrote: > > > PS Adrian -- > > > You have a wiki on a mips port to a TPline wr-1043 device=85 what wou= ld > be required for the tplink-wr842nd=85 tnx > > > > TPLink-wr842nd has enough flash space to work with adrian's > > freebsd-wifi-build scripts and should work with a proper kernel and > > hints, all the stuff in this router should just work. > > My understanding is that both the routers have same amount of flash > (8MB) and ram (32MB). > > > > In that case, John would need latest -head and wifi-build scripts (to > use kernel shrink changes). > > > > Please correct me if that's not true. > > > > Cheers, > > Hiren > > I've used the scripts in wifi-build to build a kernel, which when loaded > into the wr842nd boots to 'some point'.
