I am at work so I don't have > the exact error message or I would post that. "No Carrier" status indicates a cabling/hub/other network hardware problem. In my experience, 99% of the time it's a shorted/badly cut/otherwise broken network cable. More than likely, all your other problems/error messages are coming from this problem.
