Hi, thanks for your hints. Unfortunately the thinkpad still does not suspend even with a hibernation partition (I had some spare disk space left...). But I found that the apm utility reports: APM version: 1.2 APM Managment: Enabled AC Line status: on-line Battery status: high Remaining battery life: 99% Remaining battery time: unknown Number of batteries: 1 Battery 0: Battery status: high Remaining battery life: 99% Remaining battery time: unknown Resume timer: disabled Resume on ring indicator: enabled APM Capacities: global standby state resume timer from standby i.e. No suspend capability!
