Sorry that it did not work :-( Probably Gigabyte is using something different than the normal AC97 stuff you can (for example) find integrated in some recent VIA chipsets, and thus many mainboards. A look at the specs of your board could probably help you in finding out what kind of sound device is actually used on it. If that doesn't seem to help, I guess it's prossible that your motherboard's sound system might not work under FreeBSD. If you really need sound, consider disabling it and getting a cheap add-on sound card. The cheapest thing available is probably as good as the mainboard's integrated sound system would be.
