According to Dmitry Morozovsky: > Well, at least this MAY be useful; however, it's not in my plans to > turn compression off forever; so, do you (or someone else?) know tape mode > or SCSI command to turn compression off and on? There is a mode page that includes compression parameters. On some drives, you can't change it by software (including my HP 35480A :-(). Try "scsi -f /dev/rsd0.ctl -m 0x10" to see the parameter and add "-P 3 -e" to edit the save value. -- Ollivier ROBERT -=- FreeBSD: The Power to Serve! -=- roberto@keltia.freenix.fr FreeBSD keltia.freenix.fr 3.0-CURRENT #60: Fri May 15 21:04:22 CEST 1998 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message
