Well, if you notice that particular machine has been up for 50+
days. I shutdown X by killing the last process and then logging out. I
am logged into the machine right now remotely and,

now log in and start X... Whoa! Look at that,

Neat. 2 days is still associated with ttyp1 and ttyp2 even though they
do not have the same processes associated with them. It does look like
something is not cleared out.

'login' window (and I like to kill anything else running under X
gracefully),
