You don't need anything faster than a parallel port. The biggest bottleneck is normally the PS decomposer, not the network interface (you can also probably keep a printer busy with a 19.2kbaud serial line). But the problem is bidirectionality, if you want it...PS is inherently a bidrectional medium, and dropping the return data on the floor is a waste...
