The 5x86 is optimized 486, and plugs into a 486 socket (I think). The 5k86 is plug-compatible with the pentium. It uses the same MB as the pentium. So I'd guess that it it will be either: 1) dectected as an AMD K5 or 2) detected as a pentium I hope to know in a couple months. I plan to upgrade my MB and the K5 is the front runner.
