If you're running -stable, stick to 5.2 unless you have no choice.
glibc2.1 will probably never be fully supported on -stable.

implementation of syscalls are not performed in ports :-)

NOTE: Linux_base-6.0 has been made available to -current users. -stable
users should use the ports collection.
