The NTP distribution from <http://www.ntp.org> builds out-of the box. <ftp://ftp.udel.edu/pub/ntp/ntp4/> will get you to the same place. It's running on a FreeBSD box at UDel, and I run that release most everywhere. If there are open bug reports on NTP, these reports have not made it to UDel.
