I like this idea, although I have no idea how to implement it. Now that we
have 2, possibly even 3 anoncvs server, if we could have some kind of load
balancing so that not everyone hammers server1, it would be ideal.

I have no problem with A records. It's one more thing to worry about, but,
I think we can handle it. What exactly do we need to do to make this
happen?
