I am planning to write such a document based on my past & future experience with the ro_RO locale. > Where should I begin ? 1. choose appropiate language (<LN>), country (<CN>) and font encoding like ISO8859-x & EUC staff (<fnt>). Your locale name will be <LN>_<CN>.<fnt> (see src/share/mklocale/README.locale_name). 2. Modify appropate lines in the Makefiles in the src/shre/{colldef|mklocale|timedef} directories for -stable. You might also need to create files specially crafted for your locale (at least for "timedef"). 3. Make appropiate adjustments on src/mtree/BSD.{usr|local}.dist . You can take the ro_RO locale patch submission as reference (PR #33343)[*]. Just make sure to use the last patch as the locale name layout have just been changed in 4.5-RELEASE/-STABLE.
