If you booted the CD then you This was common (at least a few people complained about it) around the time of 4.0-release. People started getting x86 4.0 CDs in the mail. It wasn't terribly clear they were x86 only. Some people erroniously thought it had alpha bits on it too, but just didn't boot on alpha. They downloaded floppies. Threw CD in when sysinstall asked for media. Sysinstall installed x86 binaries. People complained that their system wouldn't boot.
