In my case, of course the situation of yours bothered me. I have two systems one is FreeBSD, and the other is Windows 95.. I decided to (1) fdisk my hard disk in Window 95, (2)reboot and then (3) fdisked in FreeBSD setup mode & save with 'w' then (4) reboot, finally (5)fdisk again and (6)labeled the disk... I don't know exactly why the massage: "Information Dialog: Saving any boot -c changes to new kernel..." occurs, I simply think this problem is on HardDisk problem, so I decided to do as above.. Theseday, I enjoy my FreeBSD system, with nice-looking Xwindows .. I hope this may help you.. Bye..
