You're not running the latest ppp. You can get it from http://www.Awfulhak.org/ppp.html and it comes with 2.2.8 & 3.0 as standard. Your alternative (with the version you've already got) is to create a script: #! /bin/sh echo $* | mail patrick@cre8tivegroup.com and then put this in /etc/ppp/ppp.linkup: !bg /path/to/my/script MYADDR > A few days ago, Brian Somers suggested the following to send the IP address of > the ppp connection to an email address.
