The obvious solution is to remove that copy, and provide a mechanism for the author-distributed version to neatly integrate. Provided all the correct hooks are in place, all it would take is the build/load of the ipfilter KLD. I can't work out what would make you think that we would abandon the ability to use ipfilter.
