Try 'ping 127.0.0.1'. If that doesn't work, fix that. Then worry about
samba.

Subject: Alas, Samba troubles

I'm having trouble with samba on my Freebsd machine. This is the error that
shows up in the logs when I try to login and it fails.

Failed to get local UDP socket for address 1000007f. Error was Can't assign
requested address

Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?
