I have tried to install this puppy under 4.8 and 5.0 (I understand the
results of trying to use 5) however,
it fails after nearly 2 days of a straight make install. Albeit this is a
600 mhz box.

Now, how do we know this install actually works, installs, etc. I'm
frustrated after 3 tries it still fails near the end. I'm just wondering,
how many other uses have had this issue. Again, my box is a fairly vanilla
beast, and a very simple install using the ROMs and KDE as the X
environment. If I think of it, Ill make install again and try to remember to
nab the errors.

Other then that, any hints you might relay could be helpful.

Best regards,
                 Chris
