Hi, I'm trying to learn FreeBSD, and today in an attempt to access my floppy drive I ran into this message:

fd0c: hard error, reading fsbn 0 of 0-3 (No status)

I encountered this message after two different attempts to mount the drive. The first sequence of commands I used are:

$ mkdir /my-mount-point
$ mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /my-mount-point

These instructions came from the FreeBSD handbook form the web, and were not done as root user. The next instructions went like this:

# /sbin/mount -t msdos  /dev/fd0 /mnt

This command came from a FreeBSD turotial from the web and was done under as root. Both of these actions got me the same messages, and trying to access my cdroms gave similar results. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I have to spend a lot of time going from windows to freeBSD, when I attempt to apply the things I read in the various resources I have downloaded and stored in windows.
