Hi everyone, I'm having trouble getting good quality sound in FreeBSD 4.1-RELEASE. Using any one of several MP3 players, I get *lots* of crackling with a Sound Blaster Live card that works fine under other operating systems, including several strains of Linux. (I must confess that I'm a music junkie and this issue is of moderate importance to me.) Is this an innate shortcoming of FreeBSD, or a problem with my specific configuration or card? If the former is the case, does anyone know if there are any plans to fix it? I realize that multimedia is not a major goal of the operating system, but I don't want to have to choose between music and FreeBSD. :( Regards, David Schultz _______________________________ Think different... but write good.
