Dear Sir/Madam,
Before I start, I would like to state my computer and FreeBSD =
configuration as below:
P55C-233MMX, (4*2+16*2=3D)40MB EDO RAM, ATX
Vibrate 16, USR x2 Voice Int., RealMagic GX/64
SparQ 1GB Int IDE, IBM 4.3G UDMA, NEC 1.44M, Iomega Zip 100, =
Panasonic CR-583
OS: Chinese & English WinNT Server 4, Win 98, DOS (All installed =
on IBM 4.3G UDMA)
File System: DOS & 98 (FAT16 C:\), NT4 (NTFS), C-NT4 (NTFS)
System Commander Equipped
FreeBSD Version: 2.2.7-Release (On SparQ 1GB)
Installation Files at C:\FreeBSD
Distribution Site: HK SuperNet (ftp://ftp.hk.super.net)
Download the whole 2.2.7-Release directory
I'm a entirely new user of FreeBSD. I never touched any Unix before. =
I'm just trying out other OS other than Microsoft. Anyway, please =
tolerate my silly mistakes.
I created the boot floppy from setup.exe and boot my computer from =
it. After installation, it reboots from the SparQ drive, where I =
installed FreeBSD onto it. After all the messages (I can't understand =
much), I came to the final line, 'Panic: cannot mount root' and FreeBSD =
is preparing my machine to restart in 15 seconds.
Please help me to solve this problem. If I didn't provide enough =
information, please send an email to me. Thank you for yout kind help =
and attention.
=20
Yours faithfully, =20
