Hi Duke,
Try this in your .bash_profile :
function ezq ()
{
if test -a ~/tmp/*;then
echo "There's something here.";else
echo "Empty.";
fi;}
echo by default will newline unless -n is specified such as: echo -n "Text
to echo"
