Hi,
I am trying to set up gateway using FreeBSD.
I aleady enable Gateway_enable to yes
and set sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fastforwaring=1
I am trying to do this with two real ips
(both on same network) since my network uses
only real ips.
Here is how my nics are set up in FreeBSD
% ifconfig -a
fxp0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet *.*.*.3 netmask 0xffffff80 broadcast *.*.*.127
ether 00:a0:c9:ca:ac:df
media: autoselect (10baseT/UTP) status: active
supported media: autoselect 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX
10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP
fxp1: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet *.*.*.4 netmask 0xffffffff broadcast *.*.*.127
ether 00:90:27:66:da:7a
media: autoselect (10baseT/UTP) status: active
supported media: autoselect 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX
10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP
First Nic in FreeBSD goes to the hub that is connected
to the router and Second Nic in FreeBSD goes to
the hub that is connecting the network.
Here is the topology of the network.
internet - router - hub - freebsd - hub - network
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance.
