I'm currently trying an IWill Side-Raid 66, and i = think it's crap. Bootup takes over 2 minutes, just to detect a drive, = and the main problem i'm having is this. When i unplug one of the drives = (PC OFF), i would assume that the PC would still boot up, considering = this is a Mirrored RAID. Am i right in assuming this? When i unplug one = drive, nothing happens, it just sits there at the F1/F2 boot loader = screen, and if i unplug the other drive, it says it's unable to = find/mount the drive. unfortunately, we don't have a lot of funds, so = finding a... shall we say, cheaper, card would be ideal. Anywhere under = $200. Also, if i started to have problems w/ one of these HDs, would i = get messages in my syslog about problems w/ a drive from the RAID = driver? I'm concerned about this, as this will be a server co-located = about 3 hours away, and i'd kind of like to keep my driving time down = this year. :) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
