After CVSUP'ing last night (I track 4.x-STABLE), I am unable to boot today
use to the error message:
mount: /dev/wd0s1a on /: Device does not match mounted device. The mount
command shows ad0s1a on / (ufs, local, read-only).

It looks like my device 'wd' has gone away. It is still in my /dev/
directory, but it seems the system wants to mount my root as ad0s1a, which
does not exist in my /dev/ directory. I am unable to mount my root
partition in read write mode so that I can correct the problem.

I tried booting to kernel.old, but that does not work either; I get the same
error message, which makes me wonder if I need to load a module from the
modules.old directory. Any help or references on what to read would be
greatly appreciated. I think I need to do a /dev/MAKEDEV all and I need to
edit my /etc/fstab file to change 'wd' entries to 'ad' entries. However,
since my file system is mounted read only, I am stuck.

Thanks in advance for any help. My apologies if this message is in html, my
windows box with Outlook express is all that I have for internet access at
the moment.

Gene
