Question for the experts...

Trying to compile the kernel, and in the last line... # make install... =
the machine reports to me that it "doesn't know how to make install.  =
Stop"...  the other commands, regarding make depend and make, both seem =
to work correctly... any pointers as to why this might be happening?

Adaptec 3940 SCSI Adapter
SCSI 4.3 GB HD
