I am tring to open 2,000 sockets on a single machine with=20 512meg of ram. I can only get 648 sockets before it locks up. I did a = "top' command while running a few sockets and noticed the socket=20 program used 888k of space with 400k resident. It there any place=20 to configure the kernel (header files) to get this size down. I set the = MAXUSERS to 2,000 on a kernel rebuild with no luck. Can anyone=20 help ?
