I have a pretty nice FreeBSD box that I run X windows on, and an SGI running IRIX on the same lan. I thought it would be neat to get a remote X session up on my FreeBSD box along with the local X session I was already running. Here is a summary of the commands I used:

# export DISPLAY=0.1
# X :1

I then tried to run 4Dwm, the IRIX windows manager, on the X session. I got an error saying it was not authorized to use the screen and I realized I needed to xhost + it for the on display :1

Well, as soon as i typed the command xhost everything went crazy, the only thing that actually works now is my previous X session, any conrols (control+alt+F1-8) give me an error saying out of scan range... Any ideas?
