I have to admit that this makes me a bit uncomfortable. I do have MX records for ca.freebsd.org, but that's for purposes of administration: "hostmaster", "abuse" and "webmaster". To list my email as, say, mitayai@ca.freebsd.org, might give the false impression to the public that I'm more part of the freebsd team than I am. There is a certain 'prestige' that comes with a freebsd.org address (which I have yet to deserve) as well, I think, a responsibility as a visible, respected member of the community. So, I'm suggesting that use of a XX.freebsd.org addess be discouraged, and that if anyone wants a freebsd.org address they apply straight to the freebsd team directly themselves. -Mit -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG] On Behalf Of Evren Yurtesen Sent: October 11, 2002 8:53 AM To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Subject: about @XX.freebsd.org email account policies...??? Hi I am currently hosting dns entries for tr.freebsd.org and www.tr.freebsd.org web site. I was wondering what kind of policies the freebsd project has about email addresses used by subdomains like @XX.freebsd.org I ask this because one of my friend who is affiliated with http://www.enderunix.org/ suggested that they want to give some email addresses to some people who are developing software, making documentation in Turkish etc. for FreeBSD in Turkey. So I should set the MX records... I just felt inclined to ask about the freebsd project's policies about this just to be on the safe side. If you know anybody who can answer this question or if you can give a quick answer, it would be nice.
