Which version of perl is used in the stable branch? Still version 5.005 or a 5.6x ?

Assuming it is not 5.6x, will using the v 5.6 port of perl cause any significant incompatibilities (when installed as the default perl interpreter?)

I have some applications requiring perl 5.6 or higher, but I do not want to mess with the stability of my server.

Regards,

Frank
