-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have an older machine that I use as my server. Its currently got a 2 gig drive in it that I want to backup. I would also like to backup additional files located on various machines throughout my network. I've been doing a bit of research and determined that an Exabyte 8500 would probably meet my needs. The only issue is that it is SCSI and my machine is strictly IDE. While I *could* add a SCSI controller board I'm wondering how well or even if SCSI can co-exist with my other IDE drives. Replacing the existing drives is not an option. Just wanted to get some feedback from everyone about: 1) Can SCSI and IDE work together without problems 2) What SCSI drives should I consider besides the Exabyte 8500. I would like to keep the price of the drive below $200. 3) If SCSI can't work with IDE, or if SCSI just isn't worth it, what IDE drives should I consider? Again, under $200.
