I had the same problem... I found the best way was to make world,
mergemaster, kill the ssh daemon (kill -9 `cat /var/run/ssdp.pid` which
will *not* kill your current session) and restart sshd. Test, of course
before killing your current session.

Any time you're playing with something that messes with ssh (like the
4.6 upgrade), having a temporary alternative login (ie telnet) is a good
idea ;-)

Hi,

I just upgraded it to 4.6-STABLE, and rebooted it - but shortly after it
came up, my ssh session died, and I cannot login in again.

At the moment I don't know what happened to it, and when I can get it up
again, as I don't have physical access to it myselv, but I'm trying to
get hold of the people who has.

I will keep you updated.
