I had the same problem... I found the best way was to make world, mergemaster, kill the ssh daemon (kill -9 `cat /var/run/ssdp.pid` which will *not* kill your current session) and restart sshd. Test, of course before killing your current session. Any time you're playing with something that messes with ssh (like the 4.6 upgrade), having a temporary alternative login (ie telnet) is a good idea ;-) -Mit -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG] On Behalf Of Jesper Skriver Sent: August 15, 2002 1:07 PM To: hubs@FreeBSD.org Cc: re@FreeBSD.org Subject: ftp.FreeBSD.org down Hi, I just upgraded it to 4.6-STABLE, and rebooted it - but shortly after it came up, my ssh session died, and I cannot login in again. At the moment I don't know what happened to it, and when I can get it up again, as I don't have physical access to it myselv, but I'm trying to get hold of the people who has. I will keep you updated. /Jesper -- Jesper Skriver, jesper(at)skriver(dot)dk - CCIE #5456 Senior network engineer @ AS3292, TDC Tele Danmark One Unix to rule them all, One Resolver to find them, One IP to bring them all and in the zone to bind them.
