Up until the announcement from Compaq dropping NT support for Alpha, Microsoft was shipping beta versions of Win2000 for Alpha. I think I still have one of the CD's as a souvenir. Rumor had it that they were even doing internal builds of the 64-bit Win2000 on Alpha.
