Hi guys, I'm curious again as there seems to be activity around here again. If FreeBSD PPC "basically works" (up to the point that people are messing around with Ports) then what *EXACTLY* is the hold-up with booting this on PegasosPPC? NetBSD have expressed some interest in providing a "firmware abstracted" approach using the OF and RTAS (and in future Genesi extensions) and we have a couple bugs to fix, but I didn't think the FreeBSD direction was the same - instead going for booting, native drivers (all Pegasos devices barring Gigabit Ethernet are supported in FreeBSD i386). Is there a sticky point like a kernel panic, firmware bug, lack of documentation, lack of help from Genesi team etc. that we can sit down and solve together? I'd also like to get some clarification of who in the FreeBSD team has a Pegasos or ODW, and if it's in use or not (see above). Thanks guys, -- Matt Sealey <matt@genesi-usa.com> Manager, Genesi, Developer Relations
