I'm afraid you may have to ignore my previous messages. Starting from the beginning of your log file, it appears gnomevfs2 is the first port to fail. I'd recommend making sure your ports are current, and try to build devel/gnomevfs2 manually yourself and see if it dies there. Hopefully some of the more advanced users will jump in and will be able to give you some more help. cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -O -pipe -march=pentiumpro -I.. -I../.. -I./imported/neon -I/usr/local/include/libxml2 -I/usr/local/include -D_THREAD_SAFE -DORBIT2=1 -I/usr/local/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/local/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/usr/local/include/orbit-2.0 -I/usr/local/include/bonobo-activation-2.0 -I/usr/local/include/libbonobo-2.0 -I/usr/local/include/libxml2 -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/gconf/2 -I/usr/include @INCLUDE_des@ -I../.. -I../.. -I../../libgnomevfs -I../../libgnomevfs -D_THREAD_SAFE -I/usr/local/include -O -pipe -march=pentiumpro -c ne_request.c -Wp,-MD,.deps/ne_request.TPlo -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/ne_request.o cc: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations gmake[3]: *** [ne_request.lo] Error 1 gmake[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/devel/gnomevfs2/work/gnome-vfs-2.8.3/imported/neon' gmake[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/devel/gnomevfs2/work/gnome-vfs-2.8.3/imported' gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/devel/gnomevfs2/work/gnome-vfs-2.8.3' gmake: *** [all] Error 2 *** Error code 2 Stop in /usr/ports/devel/gnomevfs2. ** Command failed [exit code 1]: /usr/bin/script -qa /tmp/portupgrade86329.4 make BATCH=yes -m GNOME_UPGRADE_SH_VER=280 ** Fix the problem and try again. ---> Skipping 'graphics/librsvg2' (librsvg2-2.6.5_1) because a requisite package 'gnomevfs2-2.6.2_1' (devel/gnomevfs2) failed (specify -k to force) On Thu, 2004-11-11 at 18:17 +0000, Stacey Roberts wrote: > Hello James, > Thanks for getting back to me. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "James Earl <james@icionline.ca>" > To: To Stacey Roberts > Date: Thu, 11 Nov, 2004 17:24 GMT > Subject: Re: Upgrade to Gnome-2.8 from Gnome-2.6.x using script failed > > > On Thu, 2004-11-11 at 11:45 +0000, Stacey Roberts wrote: > > > Hello, > > > I've attempted to upgrade Gnome-2.6.x on my FreeBSD-4.10-Stable machine using the script at http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/docs/faq28.html#q2, which fails. > > > *** UPGRADE FAILED *** > > > > > > ===> /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade failed to run a recursive upgrade on atk > > > pango.
