Some clients provide that capability:

   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S/MIME
   http://kb.mozillazine.org/Getting_an_SMIME_certificate

If that isn't enough, you can create your own CA and do the PKI  
yourself, but it is a fair amount of work and requires a decent  
understanding of digital certificates.
